HP Printer Specialist

Description:Printer Specialist Position

Position Overview:
The Printer Specialist is an onsite technician responsible for day-to-day support, monitoring, and optimization of the print management and cost recovery (FollowMe) Enterprise Server application. This position will also be responsible for all software upgrades and performing patch management duties. We are looking for a Network heavy background. This person is also responsible for maintenance and repair of HP Printers, and business equipment located at an onsite facility.

Major Responsibilities:
• Performs full range of maintenance and repairs on assigned products to include technical diagnostics, break/fix, installation, removal and customer call assistance.
• Manage call activity and perform associated administrative tasks
• Provide customer training on assigned products in accordance with current field procedures
• On-site maintenance and repair of copier and multi-functional products in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Maintain current technical knowledge.
• Maintain all company issued tools, computers, phones, etc.
Use diagnostic tools, service aids, and product schematics to assess and resolve equipment and system failures.
• Attend meetings as necessary or required.
• Attend in-house or off-site training as directed.
• Requires valid driver’s license, clean driving record and minimum levels of auto insurance.
• Proficient in Software.
• Proficient in Macintosh and PC platform computer workstations.
• Manual lifting up to 50 pounds.

Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge with the administration of print management and cost recovery software, i.e. FollowMe, Equitrac or PCounter.
• Understanding of SQL server and how it relates to the print management and cost recovery (FollowMe) Enterprise Server application.
• Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems (Windows XP/7/2003/2008) and Mac OSX.
• Knowledge of common authentication systems, i.e. Windows Active Directory.
• Knowledge of server Administration Tools, i.e. Event Viewer, Services.
• Understanding of basic network protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, Wireless networking and VPNs.
• Ability to communicate with end users over the phone to resolve support issues through remote support communication tools.
• Experience adding and removing network printers and assigning user rights.
• Minimum of two years supporting enterprise-level applications.
• AA degree in electronics or other related field
• A+ Certification
• Previous industry related experience on Xerox or Hewlett Packard equipment
• Proficiency using MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Must have valid driver's license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage
• Personal drive and internal motivation toward high achievement
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent computer software aptitude
• Strong electro/mechanical skills or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills, organizational skills, and time management.
• Attentive to details.
